British Council Presents Living Together
Living Together is a major British Council initiative that brings diverse groups together from across Europe, to contribute to the global debate on intercultural dialogue. It involves 27 countries from the East Mediterranean, Balkans, South Caucasus and North Europe. The project addresses specific issues faced by the region as it strives to develop societies that are accepting and welcoming of difference, where people are able to participate fully, positively and on equal terms with one another.
The project is being delivered with the support of the Council of Europe, within the framework of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue. The concept of ‘living together’ is pertinent in Europe, where increasingly complex and diverse societies have emerged as a result of migration. The project has a focus on the impact of new migrant communities on their home and receiving societies; and on the visibility of minority communities in public life.
Shoot Experience is the Living Together arts programme project partner. They produce photo treasure hunt events, photography competitions, photography workshops and courses. Using photography and audience participation, their projects open participants eyes to their surroundings, fusing art, culture, photography and most importantly LOADS of fun. Shoot Experience also represent photographers and sell royalty free photos as well as producing corporate team building activities.
